High Velocity Therapy Grand Rounds IV: Pediatrics

Emergency medicine and critical care physicians share pediatric patient episodes in which high velocity therapy was applied

Dr. Kirk Hinkley presents: High Velocity Therapy Grand Rounds IV: Pediatrics
As RSV season ramps up, hospitals will see the normal surge in pediatric bronchiolitis patients. Many of these patients will be treated with high velocity therapy. While high velocity therapy often is associated with bronchiolitis for pediatrics, the pediatric population treated in the hospital includes a large range of ages, sizes and respiratory conditions.
For this course, we have gathered three emergency medicine and critical care physicians experienced in the use of high velocity therapy on pediatrics to share pediatric patient episodes in which high velocity therapy was applied. The course agenda follows:

Objectives:

  • Overview of Mask-Free Respiratory Support
  • Describe the mechanisms of action for high velocity therapy
  • Understand the applications of high velocity therapy
  • Review case studies of high velocity therapy in the pediatric patient population
Panelists:
  • Adam Hennessey, DO, FACEP
  • Zach Betters, MD
  • John Misdary, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, FAAP
Respiratory Therapists can earn 1 AARC RT CRCE. Nurses can earn 1 Contact Hour.
